Capital Assets, Net of Accumulated Depreciation and Amortization Capital projects are planned and organized within the following functional project categories: • Water Supply – booster pumping stations and water source projects. • Water Storage – tank projects intended to maintain stable water system pressure, provide fire and reserve storage, and provide water during peak demands that exceed supply, transmission capacity or pumping capacity. • Water Transmission – water main projects (transmission and distribution mains). • Sewage Pumping Stations (SPS) – pump station projects (pump sewage from a low point in one gravity sewer shed to another gravity sewer shed for conveyance to a water reclamation facility). These projects often involve installation of a bypass connection on the force main, which enables the Authority to continue handling the wastewater flows while maintenance is performed on a pump station. 24 FINANCIAL SECTION MANAGEMENT’S DISCUSSION AND ANALY SIS
